Instructions to Authors
Original contributions on all aspects of tobacco research will be considered for publication in the periodical. The author(s) should be member(s) of the Society. All manuscripts are to be typed in English in double space on white paper with 2.5 cm margin
all round. A short abstract should be given at the beginning of the article, calling attention to important points and conclusions. It should be informative, not merely indicative and suitable for direct use by the Abstracting
Journals. One original and a copy of the manuscript should be sent to the Editor, Tobacco Research, ISTS, Central Tobacco Research Institute, Rajahmundry 533 105, India, with an understanding that it is to be published
exclusively in this Journal. Papers will be reviewed and decision regarding acceptance will be communicated to contributors in due course. The decision of the Editorial Board is final in all matters of publishing the articles.
The Society takes no responsibility for any opinion or statement contained in the articles or advertisements.
Contributions should be as concise as possible and as a rule must not exceed 10 printed pages inclusive of space for illustrations and table. Longer
articles will be considered on merit. However, contributors will have to bear extra printing cost. Metric and celsius units are to be used. Title of the paper should be followed by author's name, institutional affiliation,
address, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, acknowledgement if any and references. A short title of the paper not exceeding 40 letters is also to be given. The year of experimentation
should invariably be mentioned in the material and methods.
Tables and figures should be on separate pages indicating their positions in the text. Only good quality illustrations which are essential for
the clear understanding of the text of the paper will be accepted. References cited in the text should be listed alphabetically and the citation should be complete in respect of authors, year of publication, title of article/text
book etc., as given below.

☛ General compliance to the prescribed format will ensure uniformity, simplify
editing, minimize time lapse between submission of manuscript and printing.
☛ Revised manuscripts should be thoroughly scrutinized and typing and other errors should be corrected scrupulously.
☛ Revised manuscript
should be submitted in CD-ROM/DVD using any word processing package along with two copies of the paper.
☛ Footnotes should be sparingly used in the text.
☛ Authors are advised to give prompt and careful attention
to referee's comments / suggestions and in case of rebuttal, complete explanation should be provided.
